The Journey of Creation

A Herts & Crafts Gem

Grandey’s Place is nestled in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside between the village of Much Hadham and the bustling market town of Bishop’s Stortford. On the first Wednesday of most months and on occasional weekend open days, we throw open the doors of our beautifully appointed studios and workshops to offer visitors an unrivalled opportunity to learn about some of the UK's most mystical and endangered crafts.

But don't take our word for it; here's what some of our visitors said:

"Seeing the expertise of these craftspeople first hand was an absolute privilege"

"An incredible and interesting place... I would highly recommend a visit"

"We are in danger of losing a lot of specialist heritage craftspeople and this makes you realise how important they are"

Our Wednesday “Tailored Tours” @ Grandey’s Place start at 10.30am and last approximately two and a half hours; 100% of your ticket price of £10 per person goes directly to our craftspeople helping us preserve the UK’s precious heritage crafts.

Why not make a day of it?

There is a wave of calm and relaxation that one experiences driving away from the hubbub of daily life towards our tranquil, rural studios. Our morning tours of Grandey’s Place will draw you into new creative worlds and leave you wondering in amazement at the supreme heritage crafts practised on site.

Why not round off your tour by enjoying a traditional pub meal in one of the nearby picturesque country venues, such as The Fox & Hounds, Hunsdon, or with a visit to the Henry Moore Studio and Gardens which is less than 10 minutes away and open annually between April and October.
